Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Died in a California Traffic Collision

The co-creator of Call of Duty, the mind behind the immensely successful video game Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in Los Angeles, California aged 55.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.

The renowned game designer lost his life when his car crashed and caught fire on a freeway in LA on Sunday morning, according to.

"This is a devastating loss, and our hearts are with Vince's loved ones, his family, and everyone impacted by his legacy," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
