Tottenham Willing to Transferring Winger Welsh International Johnson.

Wales international Brennan Johnson
Brennan Johnson has won forty-two times with the Welsh national team since his first appearance two years ago.

Spurs' Europa League final match-winner Brennan Johnson is facing an uncertain future at the club due to increasing top-flight interest in the attacker.

Reports indicate that the club, while not actively looking to part with the Wales international, are receptive to letting Johnson leave in the event of a acceptable offer.

Crystal Palace are reportedly the team furthest along in their pursuit for Johnson, but several clubs are thought to be keeping tabs on his status with interest.

Last Campaign of Mixed Fortunes

Johnson was Spurs' top Premier League goalscorer the previous campaign with 11 strikes, and etched his name in Spurs folklore by scoring the winner in their European final triumph against Manchester United in Bilbao, ending the club's seventeen-year wait for a trophy.

However, the departure of Ange Postecoglou and arrival of Thomas Frank has resulted in Johnson playing more of a reduced role in the current campaign.

The 24-year-old, has made only six top-flight starting appearances under Frank.

Transfer Window Speculation Mounts

Consequently, a host of clubs have been alerted to his possible departure ahead of the January transfer window.

Given his limited game time and the looming possibility of a global tournament approaching with his national team, a move away from Tottenham may suit Johnson next month.

The attacker moved to Tottenham from Forest in a deal valued at £47.5m in the summer of 2023 and has scored 27 goals for the club.

The Situation

  • The Welsh international's future at Tottenham is currently in doubt.
  • Tottenham is not pushing for a sale but would consider offers.
  • Selhurst Park officials are at the front of the queue, with further Premier League clubs interested.
  • The arrival of manager has limited his first-team opportunities significantly.
  • The upcoming transfer window and Wales's commitments could influence a January exit.
